How my journey began

Hey there! 👋

I'm an early 30-something (let's just forget those Covid years happened, cool?) who feels pretty lucky with life. I'm not quite living my childhood dream yet, but I'm working on it. And this blog? This is step one.

As the eldest daughter, I've always felt responsible for everyone around me. But now, it's time to take a step for myself and finally start this blog (after a LOT of domain-buying and Instagram-page-creating, let's be real).

I was born and raised in Delhi, India, but moved to the US for grad school. I'm a typical NRI, always thinking about moving back home "someday." But for now, I'm here, writing this intro and hoping you'll stick around.

So, why this blog? It's not an escape from the 9-to-5 grind (although who doesn't need a break from that?). Writing has always been a part of me – from school assignments to writing for friends, and even a few paid gigs. My first job offer was actually as a writer, but it didn't allow for much creative freedom, so I had to say no.

They say it's never too late, right? So here I am, finally launching "IWAIT." Why the name? In the past, I spent years coming up with fancy blog names that never went anywhere. This time, I went with the first thing that popped into my head – something real and honest in a world of curated aesthetics and clever puns.

"IWAIT" stands for "I Write AS I Think" – but I'm always open to hearing your perspectives too. Let's create a space where we can all share our thoughts, dreams, highs, and lows. Welcome to our little community!

Thanks for stopping by. Happy reading 😊

Let’s get to know YOU!
